- I think that we don't understand eachother correctly; What I am trying to say is that it doesn't
- matter which operating system you use. The M command doesn't have any influence on the no sound
- problem with the v1.4 flashrom. The no sound deal only happens when an application uses the ;
- command in it's dialing sequence. For example if I was to dial using ATM3 as an init string then
- dial using ATDT555555 I would here the connecting tones perfectly. Now if I would dial using the
- same init string (ATM3), then ATDT555555; so the modem would return to command state after
- dialing, I would not hear any sound at all. It is true that Win95 brings this bug to everyones
- attention, but it doesn't have anything to do with Win95 at all. It is a bug in the firmware.
- Basically any communications program could be set up to use the ; command in their dialing
- sequence (For example to display the phone line signal level, or signal quality).
